Emmy Link is a musician, poet, and artist – ardently influenced by legends of and beyond the Folk milieu, including (but not limited to) Patti Smith, Lucinda Williams, Odetta, and Karen Dalton.
Link works to serve the age-old creative impulse, weaving it into the modern day's means and struggles. Link's time as a student of social and environmental phenomena, at her hometown university in Boulder, Colorado, deeply informs the songwriting process behind Sneaki Bandit. However, the music gets its raw and daring quality from anywhere but within the four walls of a classroom.
At its core, the Sneaki Bandit project is concerned with transforming waste – whether it be physical, cultural, or otherwise – through rebellious creativity and playful mischief, into renewed fuel for the bellies, minds, and backs of listeners everywhere.
